What Happened in January

Green photo, thanks Photobucket! | Christmas chocolates | Yes! | Become addicted to hot chocolate this month | Summing up 2012 | Braved the snow | Lush bath | Snow, yay! | More snow | Umm, more snow? | Leggings for snowy days | "I don't like snow! MEOOWWW!" | Horsey dress up ;) | My little pony | Abandoned bus | Bargain jeans
RIDE IT | Bunny lamp | Glitterz | Pinning | Curly girly | House of Holland | eBaying | Rubbish candle | Blog sale anyone? | Valentine's present | Upcoming post | Looking through old nights out pictures, haha!
Some of these pictures aren't in the right order for some odd reason, I'm sure you get the gist though! January really isn't the most exciting month, I always find it such an anti climax after all the Christmas cheer. Christmas seems like SO long ago! The snow was pretty exciting, although I might be alone in that statement! I enjoyed the January sales too but that's come to a stop as I'm now putting myself through one months spending ban. Going well so far, I'm a week in and have only spent a couple of quid.

January has included me becoming addicted to Pinterest, I can't stop! Leave your links below, my link is here. Also I really have loved blogging this month. It's so nice to interact with all of you and I've had some really lovely comments. Thank you so much! ♥

February should be a bit more of an exciting month, PANCAKE DAY! There's also LFW, it's my dream to attend one day! Are any of you going?

Blog Love #2

I've been meaning to do another one of these posts for a while now and I thought what better time to do it - ahead of tonight's #bbloggers chat which I usually partake in on Twitter every Sunday night from 8. Tonight's topic is share the love :) So, here are some of my favourite blogs I've been reading recently.
Sam's blog is one I discovered more recently on one of the chats one night, ever since I've really been enjoying her blog. She takes some lovely photos and her most recent post features her business cards she made which I think came out really successfully!
I've been reading Lydia's blog for a fair amount of time now but I still can't get enough! Her outfits are just amazing and super stylish and she has the most incredible figure which will leave you green with envy! I'm currently lusting after her Bart Simpson jumper.
Jess is one of my little blogging buddies, so naturally I read her blog as well as watch her Youtube channel! I've currently really been enjoying the variety of posts she does, fashion, beauty, little DIYs, hauls and tags.
Jess and Tash are besties in real life, so they pretty much come as a pair! I love Tash's blog layout, it's so cute. Her blog mainly consists of fashion and beauty with the odd haul throw in. Her Youtube channel is also really good, go and subscribe :)
Pasha's blog is another I discovered recently through the #bbloggers chats. Her outfits are amazing and she does some really great eBay posts. Got to love an eBay bargain! I'm currently drooling over her make up collection and storage in her latest post.

Have you discovered any new favourite blogs?

Dixi: Sneak Peek

I've recently been spending a fair amount of time browsing Dixi, mainly looking at all their magical, pretty, sparkly rings and their dainty knuckle rings. Dixi sent me a preview of their new collection, arriving tomorrow - 27th January at about 10am (so not long to wait!) I just had to share a few of my favourite pieces with you :)
Everything above is brand new (except for the gold and silver knuckle rings, which are only £3 for both, bargain!) My favourite piece is the cross bangle, I love how simple it is yet it's also quite statement. I can envisage it with a black chunky knit and a pleather skirt! I also really love the two rings in the centre, below the jumper, I bet they have so much depth and sparkle to them in real life! The blue one would look amazing with anything galaxy.

One of the best things about Dixi are that many of their items are one off so you'll be sure to look unique! To see the full collection, visit shopdixi.com tomorrow at 10am, and if you fancy ordering anything I have a special bloggers code for you! For free UK shipping on orders over £15 enter: BLOGGERSDISC

I know what I'll be spending part of tomorrow doing :) Has anything caught your eye?

Wish List #27

I haven't done a wish list for nearly 2 whole months! Shocker. Wish list numero 27 comes right after I decide it's time for a spending ban (where's the logic in that?!) I have holidays to pay for and clothes to buy for those holidays, oh and duty free! Is anybody else on a spending ban? How well are you doing?
Leggings | Rings | Top | Skirt | iPhone 5 | Shoes
I get so much wear out of my black skinny jeans, I've been looking for something similar but with a little extra. Since I got this skirt, I've really fallen in love with pleather detailing!

I've been looking for a boxy crop top and at first I wanted this one, but then I spied this mirrored cheetah one on the new in section on Topshop and decided this was definitely the one. Slightly reminiscent of the Katie Eary one too!

My little Samsung Tocco Lite celebrated it's 4th birthday recently and, although it's served me well and still is, I think it really is time to get a new phone! Hellooo iPhone 5. My iPad is crying out for a friend ;)

Shoes with bunnies on, what more do you need really? Sooo cute!

What's on your wish list?

Don't Try

Coat: Topshop Sale | Jumper: Topshop | Skirt: New Look | Scarf/Hood: River Island | Wellies: Harry Jo & Co | Necklace: Topshop Sale

I couldn't resist going out in the snow yesterday to snap some snowy outfit pics! They're not the greatest photos but there was not way I was hanging around outside for too long! I was also pretty worried my camera was going to get wet/snowy.. I need a little umbrella for it.. Do they even exist?! *Five minutes later* Yes, they do exist. They're kinda cute and kinda geeky!

Fellow bloggers will probably have experienced this, how annoying is it when you start to link all your clothes in an outfit post and find half of them in the sale (which you bought for full price!) If you like my wellies they're down to £20, haha. To be fair though I have had them for ages.

How have you all been enjoying the snow? We haven't had much but it's still managed to cause disruption. I wonder when the day will be when Britain will actually be able to deal with a few inches of snow!

Primark S/S '13 | My Picks

Quite amusing that I'm writing this post about Spring and Summer whilst it's something ridiculous like -3 outside! Brrrrr. I'm one of the few who is actually looking forward to the supposed snow tomorrow - embrace it, it only happens once a year! Anyway, I was hugely excited to see the latest Primark collection the other day so I thought I'd share some of my favourite pieces.
Those dungarees! Too cool. Really looking forward to browsing the £1 or £2 sunglasses in Primark this year, looks like there are some funky ones coming to stores. I'm also loving all the cute ankle socks!
I can't wait to go and buy a new bag, I've been after the perfect black bag for ages and just look at these beauties!
Primark's S/S '13 accessories are looking particularly good - is that watch inspired by Chanel? All of this just makes me want to spend every weekend in Primark! My stand out pieces are the China print dresses, the studded bags and the sunglasses.

To see more from the collection see here and here.
What are your favourite pieces?

Sale Shopping

I am the first to admit I am a huge bargain hunter, and I shop far too much! I'm not one of those crazy awake at 5am on Boxing Day shoppers but I do like going on the first day of the sales. I didn't get loads, just a few little bits and pieces, which I probably didn't need!
I made a Lush order first, I'm really surprised I managed it - the Lush website is notoriously bad on Boxing Day, but here it is. There wasn't much in the sale but as there isn't a Lush near me I try/buy very little Lush so the only thing here I've tried before is Snow Fairy! Everything above was half price and they even threw in a free face mask - thumbs up from me!
I've been eyeing this blusher duo up ever since it came out last year, I was very happy to pick it up for £6 (from Topshop) and I can't wait to try it out. I saw these make up brushes in Jack Wills for £4 each and thought I'd try them out as they seem of reasonable quality - you can never have too many eye shadow brushes!
I found this Topshop spike bracelet for £4 instead of £8. You can't really tell from the picture but it's gold with alternating petrol like duo chrome spikes. The bag was £6 from New Look instead of £15, the ring was £1 from River Island down from £3 and this nail polish in 'Hypnotic' I bagged for £3 rather than £6. Bargains galore!
How pretty is this ring?! It was £4.25 from Topshop, I think 90% of my jewellery is made up of the Topshop sale!
These were my best sale buy of the year, it was just fate. I was shocked to find these in my Topshop as they didn't stock the J.W Anderson pieces, saw they were £30 instead of £50, tried them on and they fit beautifully took them to the till to find out they'd gone down to £15!!! So happy I got them :)

I also got a jumper which you'll see in my next outfit post! What was your best sale bargain?

Sweet Nothing

Top: Topshop | Skirt: Topshop | Shoes: Primark | Clutch: eBay | Bracelet: Links | Nails: Models Own, Thunder + Lightning & Juicy Jules

This was my go to outfit for all the Christmas events and festivities last month. I used my Topshop voucher for the top and skirt so I didn't feel as bad getting them - the top was ridiculously overpriced! Ah well, both have a lot more wear in them yet. I really love this skirt, I don't think I'd wear a full pleather skirt so this is perfect for me, it's also a bit different to your usual pleather skirt.

Look how b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l my shoes are! I've had them for some time now but haven't had the chance to wear them, also a bit scared to wear them, they are rather painful. No pain no gain.

I curled my hair with my newish Enrapture Totem Styler, I would never pay £75 for it, but I don't think it's bad for half price. I need to play around with it a bit more and find my perfect combination (I used 2-2-2 in these pics if you're wondering). I also need about 6 inches chopped off!

Hope you're having a good evening, I'm spending mine watching these endless teenage boozy holiday programmes! Sooo messy.

Stars of 2012

Like most people this year I loved the Naked palette, Real Techniques brushes and of course, the one and only Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer. I won't bang on about them because I'm sure we've all heard enough about them to go to the moon and back but if you haven't got them I strongly suggest you look into them!

Something I don't think gets enough recognition are the Fashionista blushers. They are extremely pigmented (almost too!) There's a whole range of colours to suit everyone and the best bit is you can customise your own palette for around £10/12! The shade Juicy Apricot is my favourite shade; a lovely glowing coral.

A ridiculous purchase of mine last year was the Burberry eye shadow in Pale Barley. I can't believe I spent £22.50 on a single eyeshadow! It was certainly a one off treat. It is an absolutely gorgeous eye shadow though, perfectly silky. I bought it mainly because I felt it was a shade the Naked palette was missing.

I found two new favourite lip colours last year, Creme Cup by Mac and Cotton Candy by Collection 2000. Both are really easy to wear and smell delicious too! The Maybelline gel eyeliner has also had a lot of love over 2012, really black and lasts for ages.
Natural Collection Mango and Papaya body spray was a pleasant surprise for me, I didn't hold out high hopes but it smells good and is great for a quick freshen up, only £2 as well! My perfume of the year was Benefit's So Hooked On Carmella, full of vanilla - my favourite!

Soap & Glory's Hand Maid probably saved me from all the winter bugs and germs going round and it doesn't smell like alcohol like most antibacterial hand gels do. To keep my hands nice and moisturised I really liked L'Occitane's hand cream, thick and non greasy - not bad at all for a magazine freebie!

£1 Primark backcombing brush. Does the job and is great for parting your hair too!
Being a complete nail fanatic, it was tricky to pick my favourite nail polishes but I narrowed it down to five. I loved having neon nails but Models Own 'Beach Party' and 'Bubblegum' were my favourites, both extremely bright and in your face! Nails Inc 'Bare' (free with InStyle mag) was my perfect nude and it gets used a lot under glitters. Topshop's 'Adrenalin' was my absolute favourite glitter. So sparkly and holographic - an absolute must if you love glitter! I used 'Pool Party' on my toes during the Summer as well as my nails, it's the ultimate Tiffany blue shade.
Fashion favourites for 2012? Definitely frilly socks. I have numerous pairs spilling out my sock drawer in an array of colours, they're just so cute! My cat tee was another firm favourite of mine, casual but still added something to a simple outfit. Going along with the cat theme, my evil kitty bracelet spent a lot of time on my wrist as well as this Jesus bracelet. My leather jacket was also a staple and I can see it lasting me years to come!

I couldn't do this post without giving my beautiful iPad a mention! I bought it with my first pay and haven't looked back! Worth every penny!

What were your favourites in 2012?

2012 Outfits

In 2012 I managed about 30 outfit posts (some don't really count!) I definitely want to do more in 2013, I'm aiming for 52, one a week.. Shouldn't be too time consuming, right?!

So here are my outfits from 2012, I actually find it scary how things have changed in just a year!
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
This set was part of my 'Ways to Wear a Skater Dress' series. My favourite outfit is the first dress and shirt combination.
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
The first outfit has made me want to try mixing up patterns more for 2013.
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
Going to try and master the blogger oversized knit tucked into a skirt for the future.. Think I'm doing okay in the third outfit?!
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
I will forever love that crochet waist dress, great for daytime or evening.
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
The second outfit is one of my favourite outfits from 2012, even if that skirt is stupidly short! I'm going to try and take more pictures outdoors this year too, makes things so much more interesting I think!
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
The fourth outfit is probably my favourite of 2012, I wear that t shirt all the time! Really want to channel this kind of style into 2013.
Favourite face, hair and outfit details from 2012. I want to buy more funky sunglasses this year (hi Primarni) and make the effort to actually do something to my hair!

So, overall? I really want to experiment a bit more in 2013 with what I wear.. I think I often go for the safer option, I'm going to take things a little bit further, be more daring. After all, I'm not exactly getting any younger!
Thank you for sticking with me in 2012,
x

December Favourites

My last fashion favourites of 2012.. I can't wait to see what the shops have to offer in 2013!
1 | 2 | 3 | 4
Pleather skirts. Since I bought a skater skirt with pleather detailing on it, I want the real deal now. I think they look amazing with a chunky knit - I love the clash of textures.
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6
December is a month were it's completely acceptable to go crazy with sparkles and glitter! I wish every month was like that..
1 | 2 | 3 | 4
I've always loved House of Holland but recently it's been "gimme, gimme anything HOH inspired I can get my mitts on"! I've been browsing lots of sales to see if I can snap up a bargain as well as looking at the new S/S '13 collection.
1 | 2
THAT BAG. Need I say more? I saw it a fair while ago but on an American site and for more than I'd pay for a bag, but now it's on eBay... What do you think?!
1 | 2 | 3 | 4
I blame the girl in Topshop I saw wearing a cute little tartan skirt for this one. I'm not overly fussed about tartan but that first outfit in particular makes me want some tartan in my wardrobe!

Not really sure why I like Boy London stuff, I think it's kinda cool? I like simple printed t-shirts.

What were your fashion favourites of December? Or 2012 in fact?
