#BBloggersXmas

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and were truly spoilt. Let me know what Father Christmas brought you and exactly just how fresh you're feeling today ;)

I was invited to a Christmas Bloggers event in Canary Wharf at the Reebok bar which was all organised and hosted by Lola and Victoria - what a fabulous job they did and so much effort must have gone into it! Thank you girls :) It was my first ever blogging event so I was quite nervous but Jess and Tash took me under their wing so it was all good - I never would've found the bar otherwise!
The day included some amazing views, lots of bloggers mingling, talks from Diva hair, the strongest cocktails in my life, eating yummy little nibbles, learning about lots of products, a beauty quiz and meeting lots of new people!
Some details of my outfit (ootd coming soon!) and Christmas nails, thanks Jess for snapping these!
The goodie bag at the end of the event was spectacular! As you can see it was full of so many treats I've wanted to try for ages from a whole host of different brands including Sleek, Witch, Lush, Lee Stafford, Xen Tan and so many more! It felt like Christmas had come early :)
Before the event we headed to Hyde Park to try and find the Festive Gathering but we failed massively and ended up wondering around Winter Wonderland. Then after the event we went back again! Even though I don't like rides - just watching the rides was enough for me..! It was still good to soak up some of the Christmas atmosphere and see all the pretty lights.

All in all it was a great day and it was so great to meet some new people (would've loved to have spoken to more people but I'm dead shy!) I can't wait until the next one!

Santa & His Reindeer

Christmas nails have got to be my favourite nail art from all of the seasons, there's no limit on glitter! I've got a whole host of ideas for the days leading up to Christmas, so welcome to the first installment.
Products used: Models Own; Snow White, Nude Beige & Black Magic
Barry M; Red
Brown Nail Art Pen; eBay
Do you like them? There's something about reindeer nails which I just think is so cute! They weren't too tricky to do either - start with a semi circle in a brown colour for the head, add little ears using a nail art brush, paint a black circle for the nose and use a dotting tool for the eyes. Finish off using a nail art pen in black or brown for the antlers!

What Happened in November

Thought I'd better get this pot up before December completely flies past! Can't believe it's the 10th already, it really will be Christmas before we know it. Yayyy! Here's what I got up to in November..
Fave lunch | I love these two colours together | From floordrobe to wardrobe! | The Barry M shelves | The Models Own shelves | Finally filling in the holes | Slow shutter speed fireworks | I caved | Cath Kidston parcel | OOTD snippet | New penguin dressing gown | Being nuzzled | Yum | Agonizing wait | Mini pancakes
My cats Christmas boxes | Dinner and cocktails | AHHHH!! | Christmassy bow | Cute new xmas decoration | Keane @ the O2 | Amazing disco ball | Nearly time..
So, November was pretty good. The highlight was definitely at the end of the month though when I went to see Keane at the O2 and I had 3rd row tickets! December is set up to be a good one too, I'm looking forward to seeing the next load of images with you all :D

2true New Season Nails

Hi Sophie, would you like to try out some brand new nail polishes? Um, yes please! I think you all know how much of a nail fanatic I am, so I couldn't turn down the opportunity to add to my ever growing nail polish collection..

2true, have launched 9 new shades which include high shine crystal polishes, glitter and chic neutrals. I got to try 6 of the new polishes, so here they are;
L > R: Shade 1, Sapphire | Shade 12, Mushroom | Shade 13, Soft Grey | Shade 9, Rio | Shade 7, Miami | Shade 10, St. Tropez
Firstly, I tried out the three polishes from the Crystal Couture collection. These remind of the Models Own Beetlejuice collection, except not as duochrome - more high shine metallic, foil like. On my thumb and little finger is Rio, my index and ring is St. Tropez and on my middle is Miami

I used three coats of polish on each. Rio is a lovely copper colour with pink and gold shimmer running through it, St. Tropez is a unique dark purpley colour with blue and red shimmer. Miami is a pink with tiny flecks of blue through it. St. Tropez is a lot like purple blue by Models Own.

I love neutral nail polish so I was excited to try these next two. They certainly impressed!
Mushroom is exactly like one of my favourite nail polishes - Big Smoke by Topshop! I'd definitely save yourself £3 and go and pick this one up if you were thinking of buying the Topshop one. It was good to apply and only took 2 coats to be fully opaque.

On my ring finger I tried out Soft Grey which was also like Mushroom regarding application. I think it's a great staple colour - I can't believe I didn't have a grey nail polish before this!
This last one is one of the three from the Glitterati collection. Sapphire is a light blue glitter with large flat glitter particles throughout it. It's quite thin so I think it's more of a layering polish but you could build it up to wear it on it's own. I think this is a brilliant colour for the festive season if you didn't want to go for the obvious red or gold nails over Christmas as it's almost icy.
Layered over Soft Grey on Ring finger and Mushroom on thumb
As far as chipping is concerned, Sapphire was much like any other polish I wear - no polish can withstand a day at my work! I did do pretty well though.
I also did a bit of nail art, as I always think a simple bit of nail art looks great over a nude as it livens it up a little, nude doesn't have to be boring!

These polishes get a big thumbs up from me! The polishes are available as of today (5th December) nationwide in Superdrug stores. They retail at £1.99 each or 3 for £4.99! Bargain. I'm going to pick up the last three to complete my collection :) I'll definitely be checking out the rest of 2true's new polishes!

What do you think of the new polishes?

November Favourites

What impeccable style the first lady has! I'd so dress like that every day if I could. I've been enjoying the khaki/military/utility/whatever-you-want-to-call-it trend for a while now, it looks great with a bit of leather to really toughen an outfit up.

After extensively looking for this polka dot skirt, I think it made my brain go a bit dotty because now I'm suddenly drawn to anything polka dotted I see in a shop!

Woop, Christmas party season is upon us! (I've been eyeing up dresses for far too long now) so now I better get my bottom in gear and actually decide on a dress! I'm either thinking a spar princess dress or a long sleeve bodycon. What's your Christmas dress going to be?

Speaking of Christmas, everyone needs a good old novelty knit. I've particularly been enjoying the light up ones on eBay...! Check out this one, it's shocking!

And with the colder weather comes the knitwear, yay for cosy times! Winter's not all bad, guys. The chunkier the better in my opinion, with either a statement necklace or a shirt collar poking out :)

I've really liked wearing this forest green colour this month, I never wear green so it's been a nice change.

There was a lack of chunky chain necklaces on the high street when I wanted one so I headed to my local charity shop and picked one up for £3. Definitely go to charity shops if you want one!

I've always loved cats but lately there seems to have be an influx of kitty cats. Not that I'm complaining - look at how cute those tights are!

Hope you enjoyed my November favourites! Let me know your favourite trends right now.
