January Purchases!

Here's a little round up of pretty much everything I've brought this month - I always like seeing what other people buy so, here's what I got :)

Scrabble Ring: eBay - been meaning to get one for far too long!
17 Matte Top Coat: Boots - I don't recommend this for nail art, it makes the colour on top bleed!
Bracelet: Jack Wills - Just because I'm building up a collection of bands for my wrist, and this one makes me giggle ;)
Badge: Jack Wills - I've put it on my leopard print satchel. It was only 50p too!
Paper clip: Jack Wills - I'm going to get some sort of notice board in my room, I thought it'd look pretty cool.

New Look - Lace Peter Pan Top
Got 20% student discount off this beauty :)
As seen in my last post!

Topshop - Knitted Tipped Epaulette Cape
Was hoping it'd be in the sale, and indeed it was!

As seen in one of my previous posts!

I know the pictures of the clothes do absolutely no favours for them, I have such awful lighting in my room! In future I'm going to put the clothes on or try and photograph them better.
And there we have it! Not a bad month concerning bargains in my opinion :)

This week I'll be working on the blog layout, it's not that great atm tbh! I have some ideas, I've just to find the time to sit down and do it all properly!
Happy February guys ;D

My first outfit post :) Exciting eh?
It's a sort of going out, smart casual look.

Glitter Floral Tights - New Look (My floral bits go up the back of my legs?!)
Love Ring - Topshop (BHS are selling the same one in the sale for £3.00 atm!)
Max Factor Lipstick - 510 English Rose

Alsooo, don't you hate it when you realise you're wearing all the same brand? Lol

Excuse the dodgy backgrounds, I have no pretty backgrounds :(
Hope you liked!

Black Pearl

SPRING 2011 COLLECTION LES PERLES DE CHANEL
Reading my emails this afternoon when this one caught my eye. Selfridges showing the new Chanel Spring make-up collection (I never remember signing up to Selfridges emails...?!) Anyway I was immediately drawn to the models nail varnish and I've now decided it has to be in my life!
It's called 'black pearl' and it'll cost you a hefty £17.
LE VERNIS Nail Colour
I really don't think this picture does it much justice!

Here's a better image (nailhealth.org)
I began looking round on the internet, and found that Rimmel do one too - it even has the same name! Then I found this post by Nailyorkcity - it turns out that the Rimmel one was out before the Chanel one, interesting! Here's one of the pictures, looks very similar, but not as much green in it, I think.

So glad I found this blog, if you haven't seen it and you're a nail lover, check it out! She does such beautiful nails and takes fabulous pictures of them!

All The Cute Things #1

I decided to start another new feature which adds something slightly new (there are similar things). Each week I'll post three pictures of cute things I own - all the little things that make me smile in life :) Generally all these things are just money grabbers but they're oh so cute!

Cupcake Lipgloss - Accessorize

Cats and Dogs Noughts and Crosses - Accessorize
Cats won.. Of course ;)
XOXO

Hair Bows - eBay
I got these years ago, I can't for the life of me remember which ebayer.
What did you think? Cute enough? Too cute?

I ♥ Sales

Over a month later and I'm still picking up sale items! Left college early today (I really can't deal with it any more - 4 months today until I leave!) and into town I went to look for the GOSH holographic nail polish. It was actually snowing when I left college as well! Brrrrr

Also planned on going in BHS because I've read two posts about the sale jewellery and how good the rings are. (llymlrs and Amy Wears It) Sure enough I went in and found most of the rings reduced to just £2 and my double fingered love Topshop ring at £3 - I paid £6.50 dammit! There were also some other Topshop duplicates (y) Also, if you're looking for some more great sale jewellery head over to Miss Selfridge, they had racks of stuff! (It's not online though)

The lovely SWalker (Youtuber) talked about how good the Peacocks sale was, so I went off to check it out. Didn't really see much I liked but she got some really cute pieces. I did however fall in love a little bit with this little satchel box bag.
Ladies Victoria Bag - Peacocks
Satchel Box Bag - £5

Anyway back to what I originally planned, I managed to grab the Holographic Polish! It was only £2.49 as well, I was really pleased. I was a bit dubious because it doesn't look holographic at all in the bottle, but I've done a lot of reading about it and others had said the same thing. I got the second to last bottle too :D

My second bargain of the day was this one shouldered dress. It's got sort of tiny tiny studs/silver bumps all over it, I've been looking for a new dress for a while now - this one is very nearly perfect aside from the colour, I wanted a purple/blue/red dress but with the price tag I really can't complain! It only cost £5! Reduced from £25 :D From Internacionale - it's pretty similar to Primark and unfortunately you can't buy online.  If you've got one near you, definitely check it out! The picture doesn't really do it much justice, I think I'm going to wear it tomorrow night so I'll post a few pics, along with some of the new polish when I try it out :)

Chanel Nails

After reading the post on Sophy Robson's blog about fluro green nails being big for S/S 11, I decided to dig out my Barry M Spring green polish and do a bit of nail art! I brought it because it was a cheap replica of the much sought after Chanel Jade green shade which was sold out everywhere!

Top Picks #1

I thought I'd begin a new feature which involves me picking out my favourite pieces from various New In sections from online stores.. I'm probably going to do this once a fortnight and on the alternate weeks do a wish list - if I did a wish list once a week, it may have disastrous consequences (me spending all my money :P)

So for this, these are just items which I like but probably wouldn't buy. Ya get me? Lol
L > R: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Fabulous meets Models Own

Possibly the best collaboration ever? Hang on. Diet Coke and Nails Inc? Oh wait there isn't one near me. I'm really thankful to Models Own and Fabulous Magazine (free with News of the World) If you didn't get your mitts on it, unfortunately it's finished now :( Also, on their Facebook page they were also running a competition where you could win Make-up, ASOS vouchers, Pizza Express vouchers and some spa vouchers. I managed to win a Models Own nail file, and then I made my mum play and she won a mascara ;)
Mascara
My Verdict: Really nice mascara, not clumpy at all, quite a thin mixture which you wouldn't expect considering the big chunky brush. Gives a long natural effect and coats all the lashes evenly. I also love that it dries quickly. If you wanted to build it up it wouldn't take ages to do. If I had to pick at it, I'd say the worse thing is the smell... But who smells mascara?! Definitely recommend this!
Six way Nail Buffer
My Verdict: I really like it, I like how you can do the different steps to achieve the various effects, particularly like the 'shine it' side - you can really see the difference! The only thing con about it is the size, it's nearly 15cm long so it's bigger than your average nail file. I also think the colours are really funky! Also, I find with some nail files the sides are really rough and tend to hack half you nail off, this one doesn't.

I think the packaging is also really modern and trendy also...A huge thumbs up to Models Own! (y). So now, moving on to my free NOTW Models Own eye make up kit. I decided to set myself a challenge and use only the things that came in the kit to create a make-up look.

Here's the look I created using the free make up. Clearly I didn't do a very good job with the tweezers haha but you get the idea :D
Liquid Eye-liner: Models Own currently don't do a liquid eye-liner so this is the closest you can get! The applicator for this eye liner isn't like ones I'm used to, it's like a hard sponge. I found it okay to work with and the point was good - you couldn't really get a thin line though. It's got a good consistency and lasted a relatively long time, also dried quickly which was great.
Eyelash curlers: These are the first pair of eyelash curlers I've ever owned so I can't really compare! They did do their job though so I'm happy :)
Tweezers: Your average tweezers - love the colour!

Mascara: Strange brush, lots of little hairs. Gives a good even coverage with a natural effect. Similar to the one I listed above.
Two eye shadows: My favourite out of the kit! They're really creamy and smooth to apply. Easy to blend as well and have a really pretty shimmer. The grey is really good for creating a smokey eye and you can use the gold as a highlight as it's quite light. Good thing about this is that it'd be great for both day and night. Definitely recommend! You can get your hands on some similar ones here.
Overall, I thought the whole offer was brilliant, you couldn't really go wrong with it. You also received a 25% off voucher at Models Own, which is quite a substantial amount, I might get a nail polish or two because I really want to try them. I'm really grateful that I got all of these goodies, thanks again Models Own and Fabulous! And another little thing, you can get a free eye liner with your first Models Own purchase :)

A Girl Can Never Have...

Too many shoes!
After reading llymlrs' post it got me thinking about Topshop shoes, and how I've been a fan of discovering cheap copies, because lets face it my Topshop ones fall apart anyway... Two of my favourite places are eBay and Chockers shoes, I always pop in there when I'm in London (it's just round the corner from Charing Cross btw!)

Anyway, I thought I'd just share two pairs of my shoes because I have serious love for them :)
Green triple bow shoes - Chockers Shoes - £7!
The Topshop ones would've cost me £22. I got these quite a while ago, summer 09 I think - seems like an absolute age! I'm not really a fan of the colour green but these really pop out.

Topshop face shoes. Surprisingly these only cost me £22, I wouldn't have expected this as they're quite a statement, usually they whack their prices up on things like this. (Sorry for my yucky feet, they were cold, lol!)  I remember seeing these and falling in love instantly but they were sold out a lot of the time. Eventually I managed to pick them up on Boxing Day '09 - not in the sale!

Beyonce was rocking them once too!

New In, New Look.

New Look recently released some previews for S/S 2011, I love seeing shops new collections! I thought New Look have some really lovely pieces this time round, A/W '10 didn't really stand out for me.. Without further-a-do, here are some of my favourites!

Left > Right.
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.

To sum up, lots of chiffon and peter pan collars! Also, has anyone noticed that New Looks prices have gone up? Everything seems to be really oddly priced, I realise the VAT has increased and cotton prices have risen, but I haven't noticed it in other stores? Also number 8 really gets on my nerves because I think the collar should be black!

And lastly, my favourite photos from the collection. I love all the shorts although my favourite are the first pair. The yellow top in image 2 I think is really cute although I probably wouldn't wear it. The 4th image is really striking I think, the trousers are tempting!

Spring Term

My current favourite shop Jack Wills, gave me a sneaky preview of the new Spring Term collection. I always get shockingly excited for these things especially when I wasn't expecting to see anything until the 12th January!

First thing I saw was the Kirkbridge Gilet in a new colour... I'm so so pleased I didn't ask for a Gilet for Christmas, because I swear everyone got/has one. Gain a bit of individuality people! They do look dead nice on though. Continued scrolling down the page, and all I really see is the same as last season churned out in different colours and styles. I know that JW are like that, but these all seem a bit too similar for my liking. Oh well.

I do like this t-shirt though. Not sure about the v neck?! Definitely have to see it in the flesh. The floral underwear is also really pretty, but I did just get a JW's undies. I also had a sneak peek at the mens stuff because I fancy a boyfriend cardigan - nothing grabbed me though!

I guess the Homewares was the most exciting bit for me! I love this cushion despite it being well out of my price range! This umbrella is on my wishlist, it's pretty cool.
I'm also really drawn to this giant paperclip, lol! I've been meaning to get some sort of notice board which I can collage and put random stuff on in my room for a while now. I think this would set it off very nicely!
Didsbury Giant Paper Clip

And so there's my round-up of the Spring Term so far. I'm pretty disappointed with the clothing, it all seemed very bland if I'm honest. Hopefully there will be some more pieces which have a bit of pattern on and some without JACK or WILLS slapped on it. I guess that's what people want though nowadays. Personally, I'm not a walking label.
