January Fashion Favourites

Hi guys :) A few things I've been liking throughout January, and things I've been trying to resist spending my money on!

We have the oh so stunning Cara Delevingne to thank for this little trend circling round at the moment. A lot of people fell in love with her Bart Simpson jumper when she wore it. I'm not really a fan of the Simpsons but I really do like this print!

I think every shop related email I've had this year has had monochrome in it. It's monochrome madness! This trend has made me realise I seriously lack white clothing, I'd love to get a white blazer with black lapels - oh so chic! A monochrome outfit with red lips is the way forward.

Hooray! It's not far off Spring which means an abundance of pastels! The first jumper is so pretty, I want it. I'm planning on starting a little pastel jumper collection :)

Printed/slogan tops aren't anything new but I've seen so many I like recently! I've got some transfer paper ready and waiting on my eBay watch list and then I'm off to Primark next weekend to get some cheap tees, so watch out for a DIY post. Let's hope our ancient printer can behave!

Some of these pictures aren't in the right order for some odd reason, I'm sure you get the gist though! January really isn't the most exciting month, I always find it such an anti climax after all the Christmas cheer. Christmas seems like SO long ago! The snow was pretty exciting, although I might be alone in that statement! I enjoyed the January sales too but that's come to a stop as I'm now putting myself through one months spending ban. Going well so far, I'm a week in and have only spent a couple of quid.

February should be a bit more of an exciting month, PANCAKE DAY! There's also LFW, it's my dream to attend one day! Are any of you going?

January Purchases!

Here's a little round up of pretty much everything I've brought this month - I always like seeing what other people buy so, here's what I got :)

Scrabble Ring: eBay - been meaning to get one for far too long!

17 Matte Top Coat: Boots - I don't recommend this for nail art, it makes the colour on top bleed!

Bracelet: Jack Wills - Just because I'm building up a collection of bands for my wrist, and this one makes me giggle ;)

Badge: Jack Wills - I've put it on my leopard print satchel. It was only 50p too!

Paper clip: Jack Wills - I'm going to get some sort of notice board in my room, I thought it'd look pretty cool.

I know the pictures of the clothes do absolutely no favours for them, I have such awful lighting in my room! In future I'm going to put the clothes on or try and photograph them better.

And there we have it! Not a bad month concerning bargains in my opinion :)

This week I'll be working on the blog layout, it's not that great atm tbh! I have some ideas, I've just to find the time to sit down and do it all properly!

The Flood

I have literally done nothing vaguely exciting in 2011, apart from a few drunken antics on New Years Day and then I went out for a meal last night before some of my friends go back to Uni. I wish university wouldn't steal them for so long. What the actual heck am I going to do when my best friend goes in September. Hello recluse :(

Anyway, I have a few extra dates to add to my 'things to look forward to in January'. I guess these are the little things that get me through the week. I think you've always got to have something to look forward to otherwise what's the point? 

Onwards and upwards then... 

001. Skins - Season 5 - Starts end of Jan. I can't find an exact date but they're usually on a Thursday night, maybe the 27th? On E4

Skins is back with a brand new cast, which I guess means we're not going to find out what happened to Freddie! A lot of people around my age slate Skins for the ridiculous story lines etc, but I secretly love a bit of drama. I think sometimes people forget that it is only for entertainment purposes! It'll be sad not to see Effy in it, I've always liked her style. Style is one of the main reasons why I watch Skins, I always draw inspiration for my own outfits. 

Actually, thinking back to there being no Effy... Why don't the old characters come back? I highly doubt they all go to University or move away at 18. And even so, they don't even appear in the holidays, hmmm. Yeah, I'll shut up about Skins now!

002. True Blood - Season 3 - FX - 14th January

Another one of my favourite programmes returning in January! If you haven't watched it, I think of it as an adult version of Twilight. Much more dramatic too.

003. And lastly, I won some Models Own make-up! Hurrayyy! So I shall be waiting for that to arrive. Fingers crossed I get the lilac nail varnish as apparently that's up for grabs! Anyone can enter, you've just got to become a fan on their Facebook. And then you play the 'Handbag grab'. Admittedly it took me a while but I had nothing better to do, hehe! I shall do a blog post when it arrives.

Also, this Sunday (9/01/10) you get a free Models Own make up kit from Fabulous mag/News of the World. You just have to collect two tokens, and your Tesco's has to be a participating store - which I doubt mine will be.

So, hopefully this January won't be too bad after all. Also, I found out that there isn't a Boots near me that stock Nail Inc. which means I can't get the Diet Coke free nail varnish promotion! Which is a shame.
