Ways to Wear a Skater Dress 3

This is my third and final skater dress post, I hope you're not too sick of this dress! In this final post I thought I'd show you the more dressed up way to style the skater dress. The outfits are all quite similar, the first is quite formal and the third and second are potentially what I wear if I were going for a night on the town! Here are part 1 and part 2 if you missed them.

Dress: Topshop | Blazer: Primark | Belt: Topshop | Shoes: New Look | Cuff: Gift | Clutch: Primark | Earrings: Republic

Scruffy shoes again! I tend to wear these a lot on nights out and it seems people enjoy spilling drink on them :( I love the block heel, I'm actually thinking about DIYing the bottom of them red like Louboutins. If I were you I'd change the blazer to a much more fitted one - that's another thing my wardrobe lacks!

Dress: Topshop | Belt: Primark | Shoes: Topshop | Tights: Primark | Ring: Primark

I think I had 'student night' in my head when I put together this outfit. If I ever go out on a Thursday night, I always go for a more casual outfit and that's slightly more wacky. I never wear heels on a student night, I find it looks a bit try hard! I found these starry tights in Primark for £2.50, I was pretty chuffed as I'd been eyeing up the Henry Holland ones for months - beats £14.99 any day!

Dress: Topshop | Shoes: New Look Sale | Socks: Henry Holland via TK Maxx | Necklace: Dorothy Perkins

And, finally another going out outfit. I'm completely NOT sure about this outfit, I probably wouldn't wear it if I'm honest, I feel like I give the wrong impression with the suspenders and leopard print heels. On a more positive note, I do however love love love my shoes :) They only cost £10 too!

Hmm, what do you think of the suspender trend?!

Ways to Wear a Skater Dress 2

Second installment of my little skater dress series :) The looks today would be good for day to day wear. Tomorrows third and final part will feature the more dressed up going out skater dress look! If you missed part 1 from yesterday, here it is.

Dress: Topshop | Cardigan: Topshop via Mum! | Tights: Primark | Boots: Internacionale | Socks: River Island | Necklace: Primark | Bracelet: Unknown

Before I even start. I apologise for my FILTHY, scruffy boots. The camera decided to make them look even dirtier than they are in real life. #Ashamed

The theme I was going for with this outfit was a slouchy, layered look. Chucked on and mildly effortless whilst keeping cosy. Ideal for running errands, popping over to see somebody quickly etc. I love this burgundy knit (pinched from my mum's wardrobe!) but it's a little bit itchy and too short in the arms, I think? I don't know if it's meant to be like that or not. I'd probably stick a jacket on over this too for the ultimate layers because I get cold all the time too!

Dress: Topshop | Jacket: New Look | Tights: Primark | Necklace: Topshop Sale | Earrings: Topshop | Ring: eBay

I'm going label this one ~ all about the accessories ~ all the jewellery is very statement and probably a bit too over the top, haha. I'm also wearing my Topshop studded loafers, if you can imagine what that looks like! It's a pretty 'tough' outfit but I really like the mix of textures, I think the fur and leather give it a real edge, especially juxtaposed with the cross necklace. I'm not sure why I chose to wear my cat earrings (wish I could get a better picture of them, they're amazing!) thinking about it now, those little spiked earrings would've been better, oh well.

Dress: Topshop | Top: New Look | Shoes: Topshop | Bracelet: Jack Wills | Ring: Accessorize

I realised all of my previous outfits were pretty dark, so I fancied something a little more girly and pretty! If I had a pink cardigan I'd wear it with this, but basic cardigans are something I lack in my wardrobe! I also did a pink lip which you can't see very well but the thought was there!

Like I did in my previous post, I've used the dress in a completely different way, this time as a skirt. I also think it would look really nice as a skirt with a big chunky cropped knitted over the top. Ohh, and if you hadn't already noticed/guessed I love anything with animals on :)

Ways to Wear a Skater Dress 1

Eeep! Haven't blogged for a few days, it wasn't intentional - things just got busy! Anyway, here is that Topshop fit and flare dress which I showed in my last post and how I would personally style it. It's hugely versatile!
Dress: Topshop | Shirt: DIY | Tights: Primark | Shoes: Primark | Rings: H&M | Nails: Deborah Lippmann 'Razzle Dazzle'

My first look I would probably label as 'fashionable work attire', it's relatively smart yet edgy at the same time. Alternatively (if your work uniform is more strict!) you could wear a plain white shirt and some more demure jewellery. It would also work well for school, I was actually tempted to put some knee high socks on instead of the tights!

Moving onto the second outfit...
Dress: As before | Skirt: Primark | Cardigan: Marks and Spencer | Earrings: Topshop Sale | Hand harness: Asos | Ring: Primark

This is the dress worn as a top. I often forget that you can put a skirt over a dress, it works nicely as it bulks the skirt out even more. As far as the outfit goes, it's not that exciting so I tried to jazz it up with a few quirky accessories. I picked up the evil eye earrings in the Topshop sale before Christmas for a mere £1.50, I like them because they're a bit more subtle than some of the other evil eye things I've seen recently. I've had this hand harness for almost a year now, I think! I don't wear it much because it's so delicate and I'm scared I'll break it, nevertheless, it's still pretty.

I'd probably wear this outfit for school/shopping/going for lunch, it's not super dressy but it's not lazy either, if you get me! I wore the same shoes as before, although any pair would work really.

So, there's part 1 over! I hope you enjoyed it, this is definitely one of the more time consuming posts I've done! What do you think?
