Decopatching

Hey everyone, how has your week been?
I thought I'd introduce you to my latest hobby which as you may have guessed from the title is Decopatching! Years ago a new art shop opened in my nearest town and outside they always have a giant collaged giraffe, much similar to this one, ever since I've been intrigued. The other week I was browsing Hobbycraft and finally found out what the technique was! I bought a starter kit (which I'll blog about at some point) and gave that a go. Hooked on it, this happened...!
I bought some pretty paper and a pot of the special Decopatch glue.
And a rather ugly plastic tray organiser.
Ripped up into small pieces
Used the glue to stick down the pieces of paper and put a layer of glue over the top to seal it in
After several hours of work!
Finished result :)
I'm going to store some of my make up in here, I'm undecided about how to organise it though! I'll take a picture when I've decided. I got all of the above from Hobbycraft, including the tray - if you're interested in having ago all the Decopatch things are here :)

Have you Decopatched anything before?
x

P.s. Check out my new little sub heading things I made in the right hand column (how swish am I?! Lol)

My best friend was talking about decopatching the other day, & even though she showed me a photo of her finished product (a giraffe..?) - I still didn't really know what she was talking about - but now I do! So thanks!

  20. The finished thing looks amazing! I'm just imagining how cool it would look to do furniture - maybe like a normal wooden chair or chest of drawers? I like your new blog design btw - very sophis!
